M.K. Gandhi as a law student in London, 1890.
It's not often the opportunity arises to glimpse rare photographs of esteemed leaders, in this case Mahatmar Gandhi, India's unsurpassed political and ideological leader during the Indian independence movement. An influential figure Gandhi inspired movements for civil rights and freedoms across the globe. For a short time the University of Newcastle Gallery in collaboration with the Consulate General of India in Sydney will be showing fifty rare gems from their Gandhi photographic collection. Gandhi opens April 20 and closes April 30. Image credit: M.K. Gandhi as a law student in London, 1890.
